Downloadable Scorer Training Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Mozilla Firefox Version 2.0:

  1. Select Subject (Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Writing).
  2. Click on desired year.
  3. The Open WinZip (or other zip tool) dialog box appears.
    • (Depending on your Internet connection, this may take a few seconds).
  4. Select Save to Disk (if prompted).
  5. Click OK.
  6. Zipped file downloads to previously selected/default location (e.g., Desktop, My Documents, etc.).
  7. Find zipped file.
  8. Right-click on icon/file name.
  9. Highlight WinZip. (Depending on your zip tool, this may be different.)
  10. Select Extract to….
  11. The Extract to…. window comes up. Select your desired destination for the Scorer Training folder.
  12. Go to the Scorer Training folder and double-click to open.
  13. Click on the index file.
  14. A browser window will open. You will see the Scorer Training web site, with subject, year, standard, and question information accessible.
  15. Click on the Standard you want to see.
  16. Click on the question(s) to access the question content, scoring rubric, and examples of students’ answers with their scores.

NOTE: If downloading multiple scorer training files for various subjects/years, we highly recommend creating an overall “Scorer Training” folder. When extracting the files from the zip tool to a target folder, re-name the new folder. Otherwise, the index.html file will over-write the one(s) that already exist(s).
